Program Description:

The emphasis on this Program is to provide students (5 years and up) with the skill and confidence to skate. This program starts with very basic skating skills and progresses to the more proficient skills as the student progresses in their development. Our belief at this level is to encourage Fun, Fitness and Skill Development in every class so that skating may become a lifetime activity to enjoy! This is a 10 day intensive summer camp running August 17-21 and August 24th - 28th.  Participants will attend BOTH weeks for a total of 10 classes.  This class will include an off-ice component (with skates) from 12:45 - 1:00 and an ON-ICE component from 1:00 - 2:00pm. 

There will be children of all skill levels within this category (including beginner) and they will be broken up into pods based on skill level on the first day.  

Please be advised that all students are required to wear a C.S.A. approved helmet before being allowed on the ice (a face mask is strongly suggested). NO ski or bicycle helmets shall be allowed. Please also send your child with a jacket and mittens as well as comfortable/moveable clothing, and splash pants if you desire to keep them warm or dry.

Program Description:

This is an introductory skating program for children 3 and 4 years old.  It is a FUN program that introduces children of preschool age to the basics of skating; getting up off the ice, standing, balancing, and movement on the ice. Our belief is to introduce Fun, Fitness, and Skill Development at this age and build a curiosity of learning for future years to come.  This camp is an excellent building block for Crestwood Skating Club's fall and winter programs starting in October 2020. This is a 10 day intensive summer camp running August 17-21 and August 24th - 38th.  Participants will attend BOTH weeks for a total of 10 classes.  This class will include an off-ice component (with skates) from 12:45 - 1:00 and an ON-ICE component from 1:00 - 1:30 pm.

Program Description:

This program for Skaters that have completed Level 3 in the Basic Skating Program. This program will focus on edge development, transition turns, higher skating skills with speed and proficiency (no jumping or spinning required). Our belief is to continue the desire to learn more and enjoy the progressions of each skating skill being taught.

All students must have already passed level 3 of the Basic Skating Skills Program before entering the Advanced Basic Skating Program, or, have obtained prior approval of the Head Skating Instructor.

The classes include off-ice training from 1:15 -1:45 followed by on-ice training from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.

Program Description:

Introduction to Figure Skating – This Program introduces our Basic Skaters who have completed Level 3, to the beginning of jumping and spinning techniques, while continuing to develop edges, turns of all varieties, series of transition steps and sequences. All students must wear figure skates.

All students must have already passed level 3 of the Basic Skating Skills Program before entering the Advanced Basic Skating Program, or, have obtained prior approval of the Head Skating Instructor.

The classes include off-ice training from 1:15 - 1:45 followed by on-ice training from 2:00pm - 3:00pm.

This camp is an excellent building block for Crestwood Skating Club's fall and winter Introduction to Figure Skating program starting in October 2020.
